Meet the Officers
Dr. Vaple I. Robinson is the new President elect of Black Nurses Association of Baltimore. Dr. Robinson holds a Ph.D in Public health, Masters of Science degrees in Law, Nursing, and Health Care Administration, and is credentialed as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She is employed as an Associate Professor at Coppin State University and teaches in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. As a nurse, Dr. Robinson uses her education in public health and law to educate students in the classroom and residents in the community on how to live healthier lives. It is with honor that she accepts this position of service while upholding the mission by improving the lives of African Americans through education and service.
Mrs. Levesque is an accomplished registered nurse with over 30 years of experience in critical care nursing, specializing in adult and pediatric ICU, dialysis, and renal transplant care coordination. Throughout her career, she has worked in hospitals and acute care centers across Detroit, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia, gaining extensive clinical expertise.
In 2006, Mrs. Levesque took on a leadership role in the Renal Disease Management Program at one of the largest Health Maintenance Organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. She played a pivotal role in developing and implementing chronic kidney disease educational programs, making a significant impact on patient care. Additionally, she led the redesign of the Nephrology and Vascular Surgery departments, collaborating with senior management in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area to enhance healthcare delivery.
Mrs. Levesque holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University, a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Medical University of South Carolina, where her research centers on disparities affecting kidney transplant outcomes.
Mrs. Ogbue is an experienced nursing professional in adult medical/surgical nursing, health and wellness promotion, employee health and safety, and disability case management. In addition to her nursing degrees, Mrs. Ogbue holds a BA in sociology and is certified in Occupational Health in Canada and the United States.
As a member of BNAB, Mrs. Ogbue enthusiastically promotes community health and education in collaboration with like-minded colleagues who dedicate time and expertise to these efforts. Mrs. Ogbue spearheaded the first health fair of BNAB, which has now become an annual event. She also led its participation in NBNA’s National Obesity Initiative. Currently, in addition to fulfilling the role of secretary, Mrs. Ogbue maintains the goal of active service in the area of community health and wellness.
Marshada Chapman, MSN, RN, CMSRN, is a dedicated nursing leader, educator, and advocate with a strong commitment to advancing the professional growth, representation, and empowerment of Black nurses. She is an active leader within the Black Nurses Association of Baltimore, where she was newly elected as Treasurer, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in her leadership, integrity, and organizational expertise.
With 12 years of nursing experience, Marshada brings a strong foundation in clinical practice, nursing education, and professional development. Her leadership extends across multiple nursing organizations, where she is recognized for her collaborative approach, strategic thinking, and unwavering advocacy for nurses and the communities they serve.
Marshada earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Coppin State University’s Helen Fuld School of Nursing and later completed a Master of Science in Leadership and Nursing Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Her academic preparation underscores her commitment to lifelong learning, mentorship, and the cultivation of future nurse leaders.
In her role with the Black Nurses Association, Marshada is passionate about strengthening organizational sustainability, uplifting Black nurses, expanding professional networks, and advancing initiatives that promote health equity and community empowerment. Her leadership is grounded in service, fiscal responsibility, advocacy, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in nursing.
